Expertise at your doorstep
Since 1989, WorkFocus Australia has provided a broad range of services which include Activities of Daily Living (ADL) to minimise the social, physical, psychological and financial impact of workplace injury and illness and to maximise the health benefits of good work.
We know that there are times when a Return to Work is not feasible as a near term goal.
That’s when we support you at your home to focus on your health, wellbeing and life goals, building a return to better health and putting you in the best possible position to embrace future work goals.
Proven results
With over 30 years’ experience, and more than 600 successful ADLs completed in one state alone over the last 12 months – you can rest assured that you’re well positioned for tailored advice, suited to your circumstance, delivered quickly.
Our approach to ADL
Our whole ADL approach is centred on your needs. We come to your home to determine what will be the most appropriate and reasonable treatment and service for you, based on your individual circumstance and lifestyle.
Fostering your independence
Activities of Daily Living (ADL) Assessments are completed by our experienced Occupational Therapists (OTs). Our OT visits you at home to provide an objective recommendation on how your current home setup, self-care, domestic activities, and other roles can be better supported towards fostering your independence.
Personal care suited to your needs
Our OT may recommend equipment or home modifications in line with your specific needs and will work with you to develop a plan for increasing your engagement in daily tasks.
Functional education supporting your best recovery
Once we have assessed your home circumstances, we will provide you with unique and tailored recommendations for task modification, pacing and energy conservation techniques.
Activities of Daily Living
Where necessary, we will also recommend short term external assistance such as cleaning or lawn mowing (helping you run your home life).
Case study
One of the many successful recommendations to assist our clients live independently and safely in their own home. Our client was unable to safely mobilise outside to access his local shops for daily groceries.
When WorkFocus Australia discussed the use of a motorised scooter, our client instantly lit up at the prospect that he was able to independently complete his shopping tasks, access and engage in the community for psychosocial wellbeing, and was able to continue living independently in his own home.
